On Sunday, June 27, Lizzo dazzled viewers on the 2022 BET Awards stage in a gold jumpsuit that made her look like a gilded disco ball. She also turned a few heads on the red carpet with her finger wave mullet — yes, you read that correctly. Now just two days after the awards show she’s grabbing our attention with a sky-scraping messy top knot.
The “About Damn Time” singer shared a couple of photos and videos of the textured top knot and her lime green Yitty outfit. In one picture, she is seen in the neon bodysuit with a silver Yitty chain and hair slicked into a tall bun, which was styled by hairstylist Shelby Swain. Swain added texture to this top knot with curly pieces that stick out from all sides of the updo.
Shorter curly tendrils of hair that poke out around Lizzo’s ears add the right amount of mess to this updo. This bun may be intentionally messy, but Lizzo’s baby hairs are sleek as all get out.
