Last week, Gabrielle Union and her asymmetric bob took me straight back to high school. This week, the actor is serving looks across the pond for London Fashion Week. At the Burberry show, held on Monday, September 18, she showed out with a ridiculously long multibraided ponytail.
Union arrived at the show dressed in green plaid from head to toe. This wasn’t an average braided ponytail because three plaits sprouted from the nape of her neck instead of just one. Hairstylist Issac Poleon slicked her hair back and brushed it into a low ponytail for a sleek style. The chunky braids gradually tapered off with the ends swinging around her hips.
We’re willing to bet Poleon used a combination of holding products such as gel and hairspray to prevent flyaways and keep her baby hairs in place. Poleon lightly brushed her edges into about six swoops across her hairline. This braided style took us back to 2022 when Medusa ponytails — aka a ponytail separated into several braids or rope twists — were ever-popular. Typically, we saw people wear their ponytails high on or right underneath their crowns as opposed to Union’s low iteration.
