Dior Night Walk (043) Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Dior Night Walk (043) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($68.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that was a grayscale, smoky color story with a darker gold in the center. I did feel like the inclusion of such a warm, contrasting gold might not be the right move. Given that the brand had a warmer, bronzy color story released alongside this one, I think keeping warm/cool would have made more sense. Nonetheless, the quality wasn’t high enough to make this particular palette compelling. Night Walk #1 is a light silver with neutral undertones and a slightly, Continue Reading…

Tom Ford Rose Tease Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

Tom Ford Beauty Rose Tease Eye Color Quad ($90.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, limited edition all-matte color story that included a beige, pale coral, pink, and mauve. The quality was quite disappointing; I know the brand can do better, but ignoring their history, the mattes were thin, powdery, and prone to sheering out, which made them shorter-wearing and likely to muddy during application. I haven’t been as impressed by the brand in the last few years, and this is no exception–this one makes me question how many more eye quads I’m willing to waste money on going forward! Pat McGrath Sunset Romance Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Pat McGrath Sunset Romance 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, limited edition warmer, neutral-leaning color story that included two semi-matte shades paired with three very shimmery shades. The formula was creamier across the board with the mattes having a smoother, more velvety texture (less like a traditional matte), and the shimmers being very cream-like and a touch thicker, though I had great wear, pigmentation, and experienced good application with all the shades. Glowing Desire is a light copper with moderate, warm orange undertones and a soft, metallic sheen . Semi-opaque pigmentation Smooth, emollient consistency, almost cream-like Continue Reading…

Pat McGrath Lunar Nightshade Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Pat McGrath Lunar Nightshade 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, limited edition cooler-leaning color story that included one semi-matte shade paired with four more shimmery shades. The formula was creamier across the board with the mattes having a smoother, more velvety texture (less like a traditional matte), and the shimmers being very cream-like and a touch thicker, though I had great wear, pigmentation, and experienced good application with all the shades. Platinum Moonlight is a light, golden beige with strong, warm undertones and a bright, metallic sheen. Opaque pigmentation Smooth, emollient consistency, almost cream-like Picked up Continue Reading…

Dior Promenade Doree (543) Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Dior Promenade Doree (543) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($68.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that featured four warmer, gold-brown hues paired with a pop of cooler-toned, silver in the middle. The quality was so-so with the two bottom shades being better, while the upper three shades were of lesser quality. For the price point, I’d definitely want all five shades to perform well! Promenade Doree #1 is a light-medium, orange-gold with strong, warm undertones and a pearl finish. Mostly opaque pigmentation Slightly dusty, a touch thin; not as emollient as past formulations Applied evenly Continue Reading…

Pat McGrath Bronze Ecstasy Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Pat McGrath Bronze Ecstasy 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, limited edition neutral-leaning color story that included two semi-matte shades paired with three very shimmery shades. The formula was creamier across the board with the mattes having a smoother, more velvety texture (less like a traditional matte), and the shimmers being very cream-like and a touch thicker, though I had great wear, pigmentation, and experienced good application with all the shades. Starlit Champagne is a very light and bright, peachy copper with an intense, sparkling metallic finish. Opaque pigmentation Smooth, emollient consistency, almost cream-like Picked up Continue Reading…

Pat McGrath Bordeaux Bliss Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Pat McGrath Bordeaux Bliss 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, limited edition plum-leaning color story that included two semi-matte shades paired with three very shimmery shades. The formula was creamier across the board with the mattes having a smoother, more velvety texture (less like a traditional matte), and the shimmers being very cream-like and a touch thicker, though I had great wear, pigmentation, and experienced good application with all the shades. Natasha Denona Triochrome Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Natasha Denona Triochrome Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($27.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, cool-toned color story featuring mostly blues across three matte eyeshadows and two shimmer eyeshadows. The quality was consistent with Natasha Denona’s formulations, so if you’re a big fan of her formulas and love blue, it’s a nice pick! I did find the multichrome included to be a weaker multichrome, which some may prefer in terms of ease of incorporating it into a look, but those who have lots of multichromes from “indie” brands may find it lacking. Voltaic (508CM) is a bright, cobalt blue with strong, cool Continue Reading…

Guerlain Glittery Tiger Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

Guerlain Glittery Tiger Ombres G Quad Eyeshadow Palette ($85.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that included three more shimmery shades paired with a deeper, semi-matte finish shade. I felt like two of the three shimmers were not quite as impressive as most of the recent Guerlain quads have been, though they were still good! The matte had to be built up, but it was easy to do so and easy to blend. Glittery Tiger #1 is a medium-dark, emerald green with moderate, warm undertones and a smooth, pearly finish. Opaque pigmentation in one layer Slightly Continue Reading…

Chanel Lumiere Graphique Palette Review & Swatches

Chanel Lumiere Graphique Eyeshadow Palette ($88.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that featured five shimmery shades ranging from golden pewter to sparkling white. The quality was more mid-range for me; a little powdery and drier in texture, though certainly better when applied with a dampened brush or over a tacky base. Lumiere Graphique #1 is a light-medium, golden pewter with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. Semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation Soft, lightly powdery, not prone to fallout Applied evenly and blended out well Long-wearing (8 hours before fading) Lumiere Graphique #2 is a dark, Continue Reading…
